Located along the Luoxi River in Luhe County, this project reimagines the public realm surrounding the Laishaoqi Art Museum and Yuexi Cultural Plaza, aiming to enhance local vitality and cultural identity. The design draws inspiration from Hakka terraced landscapes and Laishaoqi’s woodcut compositions, transforming these artistic and geographic patterns into spatial sequences of paths, terraces, and open plazas.
The proposal reorganizes the museum entrance to face the riverfront, introduces continuous paving lines that weave together planting, seating, and circulation, and restores the site’s ecological rhythm through layered vegetation and topographic transitions. Yuexi Cultural Plaza, the community’s main gathering ground, is reactivated through new children’s play zones, shaded seating, and activity platforms, providing flexible spaces for both everyday recreation and cultural events.
Through modest interventions and a sensitivity to local textures, the project envisions a vibrant, community-centered landscape that bridges art, ecology, and daily life—turning a once fragmented riverside into a connected civic terrain.
