Dreams in Fragments
| Independent Work | 2026 |
Dreams in Fragments is a series of new-media experiments that reimagines virtual environments through 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) and point clouds. Across a garden, a tropical rainforest, and a waterside scene, the works explore how digital spaces can emerge, dissolve, and be experienced as dreamlike landscapes. The point-cloud studies let vegetation and architecture take shape from fragments of light; the Gaussian-splatting study follows a shifting atmosphere of water, cool colour, and gradually unfolding warmth. Presented as three short videos, the series invites viewers to slow down, wander, and attend to the changing qualities of each scene.
01 · A Dream in the Garden
Point-cloud study
At first glance, the garden dissolves into a river of stars. Pavilions and waterside terraces slowly take shape in the dark—a dream unfolding, point by point.
02 · An Emerald Dream
Point-cloud study
Leaves, winding paths, moisture, and glimmers of light dissolve into countless tiny points—a tropical rainforest held in a dreamlike gaze. Follow a faint trail into the green, where light filters through the canopy and the forest drifts between clarity and abstraction. A quiet invitation to slow down, wander, and simply look.
03 · A Dream Reconstructed
3D Gaussian Splatting study
Step into a dream of blue and green—shimmering water, a porch, the sea in the distance, and a hint of morning light. At first, you wander as though lost. As you move through the dream, flowers slowly bloom amid the cool tones. Little by little, the world grows warmer.
